Inspiration to appear on wall card: As the sun dips behind the horizon, the rocks on the Dallas Road waterfront take on a pinkish hue. While taking an evening stroll along this spectacular waterfront, I was inspired to capture the headland still bathed in a golden light contrasted with the deep pinks and purples of the intertidal rocks.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: One of the many reasons I am an artist is because of what I see looking out my window. This particular painting hopefully captures what nature puts on display for all to see. I feel calm and peace.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: This painting was based on an old photo taken of my nephews enjoying the beach. A lot of work went into creating this sand pretend boat and the younger nephew was keeping a keen eye on the proceedings. This was a great memory of family time.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: The octopus is one my favorite muses. Named after the Greek goddess of the sea, Calypso translates to “she who conceals”. In this piece her face is hidden, but her tentacles are intertwined and dominate the canvas, symbolizing the untamed beauty and unpredictable nature of the ocean.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: I was trying a process I had never tried before. The restriction was that I was only allowed a rubber spatula, plastic scrapers and fingers for tools. I also only had 4 colours of oil paint; the primary colours and white. It felt like I was going back to Kindergarten while I was scraping this painting together.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: My inspiration is the absolute need to create. In Art Trekking Again I am exploring a new palette, playing with compositions and just plain enjoying the process.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: The colors of the night sky, with twinkling stars, constellations and the Milky Way are found in this weaving. Nighttime is often an opportunity for me to indulge in creative thought and the process of making art, with the distractions of the day gone with the light.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: While on a much needed get away at Tofino, we took in many beach days, all of them filling my cup with energy and peace. This is Tonquin beach and the sky was so bright, the air was cool and the mist and fog were just starting to roll in.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: I’m deeply fascinated by the octopus; it is a recurring muse for many of my paintings as I’m captivated by this animal’s ability to change its appearance. In this piece I wanted to merge my love of brilliant colors with a uniquely styled octopus.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: This year seems to be a year of climate change and places normally warm are experiencing extreme cold and the other way around for other places. One of the consistent places seem to be Canada's True North.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: With the beginning of the new year, we look forward to new paths and reflect on past journeys. In this spirit, for 2025, I have started a collection of photographs on reflections. This photograph of a BC lake taken on a calm evening is the first piece in this series.
