Inspiration to appear on wall card: One of the many reasons I am an artist is because of what I see looking out my window. This particular painting hopefully captures what nature puts on display for all to see. I feel calm and peace.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: The tree that this was made from was found on the beach of Cortez Island by a friend of mine. It is probably years old and may have drifted in from the ocean.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: I was intrigued to try hand and beaded embroidery on silk fusion fabric. I outlined the tree, filled it with beads, then added some accent flowers and leaves. A few beaded birds complete the piece. It’s a first foray into hand embroidery!

Nighttime is often an opportunity for me to indulge in creative thought and the process of making art, with the distractions of the day gone with the light.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: A walk with our fur-legged companions, Reiner and Ariat, lead to this ethereal setting in Sooke. The peace and stillness of the setting permeated my being then, and continues to do so. The music that resonates most for me when I reflect on this image is Adagio in G Minor (Albinoni), for its slow tempo allows space for contemplation.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: Experimenting with fine cotton threads to create a firm textured basket. My aim was to use different patterns and techniques to enhance a functional vessel.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: We know a lot of stories from the lives of mythological heroes and most of them appear to us as adults. I decided to think and imagine how these heroes would look in their childhood. And one of my chosen heroes is Demeter. Demeter is the goddess of fertility and harvest.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: In my artistic journey, I've crafted a poignant ensemble of six distinct abstract paintings, each inspired by a narrative shared with me by a friend. Sadly, it's a tale not uncommon—where one grapples with a sense of not belonging, feeling drained of purpose, engulfed in emptiness, sadness, and the desire to escape through self-inflicted pain.
