Inspiration to appear on wall card: On a hike near Witty"s Lagoon, I was looking forward to the opening on the trail at a high view point. I was rewarded with this extravagant scene. The placid beach and reflective water, crowned with a string of popcorn clouds, all in a setting of vibrant shoreline grasses and shrubbery. How could I not paint it?

Inspiration to appear on wall card: This year seems to be a year of climate change and places normally warm are experiencing extreme cold and the other way around for other places. One of the consistent places seem to be Canada's True North.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: I made this painting as an example of a way to peace and as a for of meditation. Every time I see the depth of the painting it reminds me how deeply we can change our perspective for the world by seeing more positive around us.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: I’m deeply fascinated by the octopus; it is a recurring muse for many of my paintings as I’m captivated by this animal’s ability to change its appearance. In this piece I wanted to merge my love of brilliant colors with a uniquely styled octopus.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: I was trying a process I had never tried before. The restriction was that I was only allowed a rubber spatula, plastic scrapers and fingers for tools. I also only had 4 colours of oil paint; the primary colours and white. It felt like I was going back to Kindergarten while I was scraping this painting together.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: The sudden death of our 5 week old granddaughter was such a horrible shock!! She was our Covid baby... as our son's vasectomy, scheduled for March 2020 was cancelled, they were expecting their 4th child the following summer, on my birthday! They hadn't planned more children but this little miracle girl was so welcomed and loved...She was quiet, happy, perfect, and so loved by her sister and brothers... One day she didn't wake up from her nap. The inspiration for this painting came when I heard this song at her funeral, Fire and Rain by James Taylor. The fire and rain above the family, represents our emotions as we walk through the valley.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: This painting was created after I received this bouquet of stunning dahlias from a friend. I painted this with a loose style using both brush and palette knife. The result was this expression of joy.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: The octopus is one my favorite muses. Named after the Greek goddess of the sea, Calypso translates to “she who conceals”. In this piece her face is hidden, but her tentacles are intertwined and dominate the canvas, symbolizing the untamed beauty and unpredictable nature of the ocean.

Inspiration to appear on wall card: I love the Rocky Mountains….driving through is always an exhilarating experience. We see different aspects every time we have the privilege of experiencing them. This is my interpretation of the Rocky Mountains through The Roger’s Pass!
